After almost a year since the previous club outing two dozen cars and occupants took part in the 1020 Summer Road Run and Picnic on Sunday 01 August 2021.
A variety of MGs (and a few other marques) assembled at Hamworthy Sports Club for the start of the 62 mile, two hour road run (devised by George Parrott) heading west to the finishing point at Harmans Cross village hall.
The journey took in almost every Tarrant in rural Dorset (I bet you didn’t know there were so many) then took in the scenic sights of Fontwell Magna, Hartgrove, Manston, Hammon, Belchawell, Millborne St Andrew and finally historic Corfe Castle.
On route many of the Roadsters had to make an unscheduled stop to raise their roofs as a sudden torrential downpour caught many out on what was otherwise a near perfect driving day.
Harmans Cross provided a relaxing setting for everyone to picnic outdoors and enjoy the cakes and coffee on offer before heading home.
