Our June meeting, falling during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, was always going to be a challenge for us. We decided to make it a special night with decorations, celebratory cake and a Fun Quiz with a Royal section. A large number of members had warned us that they would be away on holiday over this period. Combined with the many events planned over the 4 days of celebrations the Jubilee concert was televised from 7.30 pm on the night of our meeting. This further reduced the normal attendance on this particular evening.
The 3 section quiz, produced by Graham, went very well. Phil Doughty, Duncan and Fizz Gee, Pat Lodge and Chris Adamson each won a section and a prize with the overall winners, Pat Lodge and Chris Adamson receiving a bottle of “Champagne”. The evening concluded with the serving of the cake and a huge raffle.
