Storm clouds finally parted and sunshine appeared for the first time in weeks as 26 club cars headed into the picturesque Purbeck Hills for the weather delayed 1020 Winter Road Run on Sunday 01 March.
Blue skies encouraged many to bring out their classics from hibernation so there was a good age span of vehicles from a 50s TF and MGA through a glut of 60s and 70s MGB Roadsters and GTs to a classic modern MGF and even a brace of GS sport utilities.
The scenic 40 mile drive avoided most of the flooded lanes of Dorset and offered glimpses of Corfe Castle and the coast before finishing at the Seven Stars Inn at East Burton where 44 members sat down for a relaxing and enjoyable lunch.
