Around 80 members joined together for Christmas lunch at the Walhampton Arms and I must say that our hosts Natasha and Andy again treated us very well indeed. The carvery was much appreciated and enjoyed by all. All proceeds from the day were to be presented to the Kidney Patients Association. The main raffle raised £268 and the raffle for the fantastic hamper provided by Wendy and Dave Brooks raised £105. A further £180 was raised from a “silent auction” for a 32” TV set and a voucher for carpet cleaning for a whole house. These funds were added to the donations received at the charity walk around Hengistbury Head on Sunday 30th October, the total amount being rounded up to £850 from club funds. Well done to everyone for their support. A representative of the Kidney Patients Association will attend club night in February to receive the cheque and tell us about some of the work that the association does.
