This run was organised for us by Len and Jan Wayman. Len spent much of his working life as a Dorset policeman and knows the nooks and crannies of the county very well. Our starting point was the Barley Mow pub and on leaving, this interesting route followed many side roads and lanes to our organised lunch stop at the Three Elms pub in North Wooton. After lunch, many members went next door to ‘The Forge’ to view the fantastic sculptures, all made from recycled metal parts. The afternoon route took us past some of the beauty spots and major sights of Dorset and was much enjoyed. Unfortunately we had two casualties on the day, as we all know our cars sometimes develop problems and both of the casualties finished their journeys behind transporters. Our thanks to Len and Jan for their planning and attention to detail. This included going around the route the day before and putting out markers at some of the more difficult turns.
