The autumn run started in dry conditions for the 39 cars meeting for a 10.30 am start at the Hamworthy Sports Club. Unfortunately the rain soon set in and never cleared. The route, planned for us by Roger and Penny Leach took us out into the north Dorset countryside, along country roads and lanes, to our pre booked lunch stop at the Coppleridge Inn at Motcombe. Sixty eight of our members enjoyed a very good lunch in a refurbished barn, which has its own kitchen and bar and was reserved solely for us. After lunch the picturesque return route, which would have been even better in sunshine, ended at Pamphill Dairy where many members stopped for tea and cake.
