The starting point for the Saturday run is The Yeo Valley Holiday Park which has a host of accommodation for the Friday night. You can pitch a tent for £12.50 for the night, you can have a caravan that sleeps four for £65 if you bring sleeping bags (an extra £10 if you want sheets supplied), or you can have a room in the Blackcock Inn which is situated on the site about 50 meters from the camping.
The rooms are priced as follows and all come with breakfast – Double bedroom with ensuite £55, twin bedroom with ensuite £45 or doubles using the shared bathroom £40. The breakfast can also be supplied for campers at £5.50 per head. There is also the facility for an evening meal and these range between £7.50 and £9.00 for Bangers and mash, Chilli, Curries and home made Steak and ale pies etc. Food can be ordered on the night and eaten at the pub or even in your tent. Refreshments are available from the pub before the run at reasonable prices.
Having then taken the tour of North and West Devon you will end up at in Bovey Tracey where refreshments will be available, this is also the Saturday Night Dinner venue should you wish to take part. There are various rooms available around the area or there is a camp site 10 minutes away and you can pitch a tent there for £13 – £16 per pitch (which must be booked through Lemonford Caravan park on 01626 821242 quoting Exeter MG) or they have static caravans for £50 but a minimum of a 2 night booking. We hope to have a small minibus available for those camping but wishing to attend the Saturday evening event if there is a demand, so let us know when booking if you are interested in this service (a small fee will be charged and tick this box if you wish to use the service).
The Saturday Night Dinner at the Dolphin will also have some entertainment and this can be booked through us at £12.50 per head and the limited but finger licking menu can be found on the rear of the booking form (or page 4. in email documents) which if booking the dinner should be returned with your booking form.
The Sunday run (as last year) starts at the Scout hut 200 yards from the Dolphin (9:30 am with tea and coffee available) and takes in a tour of South Devon looping around to finish where it started for a well deserved cream tea.
You can book for both runs or simply one or the other depending on your schedule and can book the dinner as either a great way of ending your Saturday run or as a prelude to the Sunday run. If you are brave enough you can book for both runs and the dinner and really make a great weekend of it.
